RIP - Old Devil Moon closes it's doors

Here in NYC.
There was a restaurant called Old Devil Moon.
I say WAS because last nite was the last nite it will be open.

Many a nite have I tried my best to scarf down the Chicken Fingers, Death Row Steak(with bourbon and red pepper rub) with a side of Steak fries, woof down the AWESOME johnny cakes. and 2 Abita turbos to no avail. Everytime I told myself "get the misdemeanor" but NOOOOO!

Anyway, last nite Amanda, Erin, Brandi and I had the last 4 beers in the place and were denied a couple of our perennial favorites which made the final meal a little harder. No Johnny Cakes, no deviled eggs, no steak. At least the Brisket still is awesome and blew me out of the water and Amanda got her beloved Tofu Fingers (I never would have heard the end of THAT one).

It is funny to think my wife had a whole experience there that I didn't have and the opposite is true as well. She had a place to meet with the "girls" and be awesome rock chicks on the town and I had a great meeting place for the band (Joker Five Speed) when we had something to celebrate or it was an important meeting on a nite we didn't practice. Then to have it as a place together as a gathering place for ALL of those people. It is a hard loss.

Sadly, one of many that has, and will continue, to hit the city we love.

Thank you ODM for being a hangout for my band, a hang out for my wife and her friends and in advance for sending me the recipe for the Bourbon rub and tofu fingers! OK, that last one is a stretch, but a boy can hope.
